The road to academic excellence!
Academic excellence is the demonstrated ability to perform, achieve, and/or excel in scholastic activities. Most times people fail to excel academically due to their negative attitudes towards excelling or rather lack belief in ourselves that they can excel.To achieve academic excellence, it is essential to create an environment that fosters the development of a community that can grow intellectually, socially, and ethically, and is therefore able to pursue successful and fulfilling careers. This is achieved through:
-University-wide learning outcomes that are integrated throughout the curriculum which promote critical thinking, professionalism, physical and emotional health, diversity and inclusion.
Internships and projects with local businesses and organizations; service, experiential and applied learning projects; and opportunities for students to apply their knowledge in scholarly activity, research projects and the ability to translate this knowledge into practice in real world settings.
Educating yourself in a reciprocal process through arts, symposiums, lectures and services.
Continuous and regular personal assessment of learning outcomes and best teaching practices.
Allowing yourself access to modern facilities, equipment, and advanced technologies.
Being close to more smarter people who can motivate and foster your academic interest.Etc
Sometimes people need to meditate upon themselves and ask relevant questions; talk to themselves and ask a million questions;
“What do I want in my future?”“Do I really need it or just want it?”“Am I where I wanted to be? Yes? No? Why?”“Where am I going?” “What am I doing?”“What would happen if I do this?”
Employ diverse, adaptable, and applied methods that serve a variety of learning styles to achieve your set goals.
“No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.” Regina Brett
